The loss of life caused by conflict is a wound shared across the world.
Remembrance Sunday is a global day of tribute for fallen soldiers, observed in countries worldwide with distinct traditions honouring military sacrifice.
United Kingdom

In the UK, Remembrance Sunday features national ceremonies like two-minute silences, war memorial wreath-laying, and marches with veterans wearing red poppies, which symbolise remembrance and support for all those that have served in conflict.
United States
While Veterans Day (11th November) in the US honours all veterans, Memorial Day (last Monday in May) remembers fallen soldiers with ceremonies, memorial services, and moments of reflection on their service and sacrifice.

France
France marks Armistice Day on November 11th with ceremonies, wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and a national moment of silence. Citizens wear cornflowers as a
remembrance symbol.
Canada
On November 11th, Canada observes Remembrance Day with ceremonies at war memorials, playing "The Last Post," and wearing red poppies to honour fallen service members. Candlelight vigils express gratitude for their sacrifices.
Germany
Germany commemorates Volkstrauertag around November 16th to remember war and the victims of wartime violence with ceremonies, silences, and laying of wreaths, emphasising peace and reflection.

legacies.
Japan
On August 15th a service is held to honour both Japanese military casualties and Japanese civilian victims of war, over 30 million deceased individuals in total. This solemn occasion serves as a reminder of Japan’s commitment to peace and democracy. Ceremonies, reflections, and educational initiatives are held to honour the sacrifices of the past.
India

India has two national days of remembrance:Remembrance Day (11th November) is marked at war cemeteries, including the Delhi War Cemetery and other sites around the country. Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on 14th August is a day to remember the need to remove social divisions and disharmony, and to strengthen the spirit of oneness, social harmony, and human empowerment. The day also pays tribute to the courage of those who were impacted by the partition and went on to rebuild their lives. The marigold is India's national flower for remembrance.
