Plans are now well under way for the choirs visit to the Isle of Wight this coming August! A concert with Newchurch Male Voice Choir has been organised for one afternoon and there is the possibility of singing on the last evening at Warners Norton Grange Hotel which is accommodating the choir for their visit.
In the meantime, the ladies are rehearsing for their annual summer concert on Sunday 2nd August at St Editha’s Church Community Rooms, College Lane in Tamworth when it is hoped that following their well-received performance at the choirs Christmas concert the Earl Shilton Handbell Ringers will be the guests.
The long awaited and much anticipated visit from the famous Morriston RFC Male Voice Choir is now confirmed and they will be singing with Tamworth Ladies’ Choir on Saturday 10th October at St Editha’s Church. Put that date in your diaries as it is not to be missed. The sound of fifty or more Welsh men’s voices will raise the roof of the church
Now for the bad news! Following the choir’s Christmas concert on 6th December Hilary Griffiths, the choirs wonderful Musical Director will be conducting the choir for the final time as she is moving back to the Isle of Man, the place of her birth. There will be plenty of tears on that day unfortunately.
Consequently, the hunt is on now for someone to follow in her footsteps and drive the choir forward as Hilary has done so brilliantly.
