A Search for Musical Talent

Tamworth Ladies’ Choir are seeking a new Musical Director to replace the brilliant Hilary Griffiths who is leading us in her final concert on December 6th 2026.

The choir was founded in 1990 and since then has only had three Musical Directors. During the thirty six years since its formation it has gained a reputation for fine singing with amazing harmonies. The new Musical Director will be expected to help us maintain that reputation and take us forward.

We are a friendly group of thirty plus singers with a wide age range and have a wide and varied repertoire of songs but mainly of a lighter style.

Traditionally we hold three concerts a year with guest choirs or musicians and visit other choirs to sing with them. We occasionally perform at Care Homes and at charity functions.

In our new Musical Director we are looking for someone with energy, passion and humour as well as highly developed choral knowledge and good conducting skills. They must also be able to coach and help members enjoy and develop vocal techniques and lead in the selection of appropriate songs for the choir.
