Baker's Huge Challenge

Quality Cake Company, a local family run business based in Fazeley, have been asked to re-create the cake of one of the most talked about weddings of the year!
When we received the call from The Sun newspaper, it was one of those moments that instantly grabbed our attention. We were told they were planning a competition where one lucky couple could win a recreation of key elements from Venezuela Fury and Noah Price's wedding, including everything from the dress and rings to the bridesmaids’ dresses and, of course, a spectacular replica of the six-tier, 12-foot wedding cake.
It is our understanding that the original cake maker was unable to recreate the design for the competition, so The Sun began searching for an experienced company with a proven track record of creating large-scale celebration and wedding cakes. That search led them to us at Quality Cake Company in Tamworth, and we were absolutely delighted to be approached.
Our first reaction was excitement. As cake designers, we love a challenge, and being asked to recreate such a high-profile cake was a huge honour. However, alongside that excitement came a healthy dose of nerves.
The cake itself is enormous. We have created a number of very large wedding cakes previously, but transporting something of this scale over a significant distance is not something we do every day. The logistics, transport planning and on-site assembly all require careful thought. When we first saw the dimensions, the reality of the challenge quickly sank in.
There was also the challenge of recreating another cake designer’s work. Designing an original cake gives you complete creative freedom, but producing an accurate replica requires a different skill set. Every detail matters, and there is a responsibility to honour the original design while ensuring the cake is structurally sound and suitable for the event.
Fortunately, we are an experienced team with more than 100 years of combined cake-making experience across a team of six, so we are ready to take on the challenge.

Couples from across the country apply to The Sun, sharing their stories and explaining why they deserve to win. The entries are then reviewed by a judging panel, including celebrity Peter Andre, who helps select the winning couple. Knowing the prize would become part of such a meaningful day for a couple whose story resonated with the judges made the opportunity even more special, and we were thrilled to be involved.
We are proud that a small independent business from Tamworth was chosen for such a prestigious project and grateful for the opportunity to showcase what a passionate local team can achieve.
The wedding date has not yet been confirmed, as a winner is still to be chosen, but we believe it will take place within the next 12 months—so watch this space! To see more of Quality Cake Company’s wonderful creations, you can visit their website at www.qualitycakecompany.com
