Film: Salem’s Lot (dir. Gary Dauberman) in cinemas from 11th October
The long-awaited Salem's Lot remake directed by Gary Dauberman, promises to be a fairly faithful adaptation of Stephen King's book with some added flourishes. It tells the story of writer Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman), who returns to his hometown of Jerusalem's Lot to find inspiration for his next book, hoping to revisit the local "haunted" house in the town only to find a creeping, malevolent evil is slowly taking over the town. If you ever saw the 1979 version as a child of the '80s, you’ll no doubt remember its injection of terror into your heart! Salem's Lot is a true vampire classic, and it will be fun to see a whole new generation be introduced to it. Dripping with tension and that trademark Stephen King horror and peppered with great performances, it's sure to be unsettling and creepy from the start!

Music: The Smile ‘Cutouts’ available from 4th October
The Smile - the trio consisting of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood plus jazz drummer Tom Skinner (of Sons Of Kemet) - present their third studio album. Cutouts is another smouldering and subtle fusion of jazz, prog and indie.
Recorded in Oxford and at Abbey Road Studios during the same period of time as their earlier album this year ‘Wall Of Eyes’. The album features string arrangements by the London Contemporary Orchestra, and the cover art was painted during the recording process by Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke.
This is the second studio album release from The Smile in under a year. In January, Wall Of Eyes charted at #3 on the UK album charts, receiving “Best Album of the Year so far” praise from Pitchfork, The Needle Drop, Consequence, Brooklyn Vegan, Treblezine and Spin.
