Step into a summer of curiosity and wonder at the National Memorial Arboretum.

From 19 July - 31 August, ‘Wondrous Trees’ - a free programme of activities, inspired by the stories, science and sounds of the Arboretum’s wonderful woodlands, invites you to discover why trees are so important to our world.

CANOPY, a brand-new immersive sound installation, produced by the Lorna Rees Company, will encourage visitors of all ages to pause and listen. Joyful, hopeful, and thought-provoking, CANOPY celebrates the connection between humans and trees. Artist Lorna Rees collaborated with more than 500 people to develop the piece, from ecologists, artists and musicians to writers and young people. Collect a free CANOPY trail sheet and listening pad, then wander between the suspended sonic seed pods to immerse yourself in the fascinating stories shared.

In addition to ‘Canopy’, available daily, on Wednesdays from 23 July - 27 August free ‘Wondrous Takeovers’ will also give younger explorers the chance to creatively engage in nature through imaginative storytelling, fun live performances, arts and crafts and music. Wondrous Takeover sessions are subject to availability – booking is recommended.

Entry to the Arboretum is free, however advance booking is recommended to guarantee entry and save on parking. You can find out more information about Wondrous Trees and the Arboretum by visiting thenma.org.uk/wondrous.
