For those of us that enjoy our tipple, let’s be mindful.

From 6th July communities across the UK will observe Alcohol Awareness Week, a national campaign organised by the charity Alcohol Change UK. The week serves as a crucial moment for individuals and organisations to reflect on the role alcohol plays in their lives and to consider the impact it has on health, wellbeing, and society.
The theme for 2026 is 'alcohol and me', a campaign designed to encourage people to pause and think about their personal relationship with drinking, especially in a culture where alcohol is often central to social events and daily life. The focus is on understanding how alcohol may be affecting us more than we realise, from our physical health to our mental state and productivity.
The initiative comes amid concerning statistics. It is estimated that around 10 million people in the UK regularly drink at levels that can harm their health and wellbeing. Alcohol misuse is linked to over 60 medical conditions, including several types of cancer, and costs the NHS billions annually. During the week why not track your drinking pattern, adopt healthier habits, or start an honest conversation and reducing the stigma around alcohol-related issues.
